Getting the small stuff done

Sometimes we tend to tackle the large projects in life like replacing the roof, fixing the car,and making a great holiday meal. These are all great things to do. These may all be very necessary to get from point A to point B.

This past weekend, my father and I got a big project done. We renovated our upstairs bathroom. This was great! Now that it is done it will help our home value, and it makes us all feel good. However, today is a very stormy and rainy day. Today is a day that we are catching up on the small stuff! Making more flowers for our cupcakes, getting signage and marketing done, cleaning, making boxes, and discussing future projects and events. Looking at the day so far I have noticed that the small stuff is so much larger than the projects that we see as HUGE! The small stuff adds up to a large mountain. I guess this is the same as an argument never resolved, or procrastinating about whatever or anything you just put off or do not face.

I guess we needed the rain, not just because of the drought but because it helps wash away the small stuff!

Good luck and get it done you will feel so great when it is over!

Unexpected

When something unexpected happens it causes a reaction. This reaction may be good or it may be bad. I guess that depends on the unexpected event. I have to admit we had a wonderfully unexpected good week last week. Now, it did not start off all that great, but it did end pretty darn good! I am not saying that we made a whole ton of money, but what we did get was a whole lot of really good people who appreciated our hard work. This was an unexpected, but great feeling!

That was really only the beginning. We have a son who is 10 and looks like he is 6! He is really did I say really tiny! BUT...... he is very I must repeat VERY competitive. Two weeks ago he started football and we were a bit unsure......HE IS TINY!!!! That little sucker can kick some serious ASS..... I mean beat the hell out kids WAY WAY did I say WAY bigger than himself. Unexpected..... HELL YA.... But really cool and really cool to see.

Lastly, we got invited to a friends house and we ALL had a great time. Not that this was unexpected because they are really really.... YES, I am saying it again REALLY great people..... BUT it was UNEXPECTEDLY wonderful..... Both Jennifer and I came home and felt so great to have such a great time. The kids even had a great time, and they behaved.......Unexpectedly that was a bonus......

I hope that you all have some unexpected wonders happen this week.

Reaction

Finally, reaction. I guess I've finally written something that has caused a stir. I've finally gotten some reaction about my posts.

First, I sometimes use fictional situations to make a point,,,,,these are based on situations I see, and I reconfigure them to what is currently being done in my life. However, this is not always the case. Sometimes I do use true to life cases. I do not want to sound bitter or angry. However, I do want to let people know that when you create thought you create change, and change is what I am after.

I feel very fortunate to feel and see change in myself. Sometimes I feel like a light went off. I see the world a bit differently. I think that many people can claim this same feeling. I feel others think they feel and see, but they only do so because they have been told that vision is out there. Yet, others are just in the dark. It is like the Matrix movie or that Jim Carey movie Truman. The world is not what it seems to be, but for a select few it is. I am not claiming to see clearly or be that select few. I am saying that I see a glimmer of light, and everyday I pray for that light to become a bit brighter. I am pretty sure it takes a lifetime to see clear. I am sure that we can all relapse and forget. I think that there is hope for everyone and anyone if they choose to see.

Most will stay in the dark, claim to be what they are not, and maybe that is what is inevitable. Maybe, just maybe I can help one person be the best they can be.

I can think of numerous people who have taught me, and given me lots of inspiration over the years. It may be simple like "not needing excess, why do we need 20 pairs of shoes when we only wear one", or "Shit in one hand and want in the other. Now, see which one fills up first?"..... Truthfully, when you sit back and think, do you really need XYZ? Personally, for me the answer is usually NO! But WANT is another topic all together.

Well, thank you all for your comments and e-mails! Keep them coming.

As for now I am off to the next chapter of the day!

So called experts----HA

Have you ever had an experience with a person or company that makes you say "HUH". Someone who claims to know what they are doing but is less knowledgeable than you! I have encountered that so much lately I am losing faith that people know anything about their profession!

Lets imagine you are a food writer who does not know what is a current and popular product, or you criticize the location in which you work due to the fact it is not your personal desired taste! Let's get this straight. I am not bitter. I am bewildered! I am more than baffled at the fact that someone who is local and educated in the north, finds $15 entrees at local establishments in a vacation mecca WAY to pricey?! First off, vacation destinations tend to be more expensive, that's a given (look at any theme park and their prices!). High dollar areas tend to bring higher dollar items (look at 5th Ave or Rodeo Drive). When you live in these areas inherently the cost of living is higher! Furthermore, $15 dollars is not even an extreme price!. So..... if you write about food you should know your demographic area and be tolerant to it even if you PERSONALLY do not agree. Remember the tourism helps to PAY YOU!

Part one complete! Now, if you write about food, you would think you would follow food. It may be on the internet, TV, magazine or being exposed through your experience. Hence, you may have seen something about a cupcakery! YES, to all you who live under a rock cupcakerys--- THEY SELL CUPCAKES! Now that that 900 level course is over, we can all take a sigh. Hope you all passed that test of common sense. If not then what the fuck! Go back to your cave and keep on sleeping Rip Van Winkle!

So... that's not the only piece of stupidity I have encountered lately. I know.... some of you may insult my intelligence based on my writing or lack of. That's fine.... Think as you will. I need an editor but I do not and will not claim to be a professional writer. I do know I take some really good pictures! AND NO I am not a professional photographer! I do however come across them quite often, they may be taking pictures of my place or dining here. I can tell you that just because you title yourself a professional..... WOW.... you still may not be an artist or even have an eye for your profession. Maybe you have been doing it for a long time....Maybe you should NOW quit and find your real talent, because you SUCK!

OK..... Again I am not bitter..... I am just observing the obvious... I know you all have 100 of your own stories that could be added about whatever, like the so called computer expert that crashed your machine or the mechanic that made the car worse, or whatever.....

I am really amused......Amused about how society make you register, get a degree, get bonded, licensed, tested, retested, CEU's, and even with all that stupid fucks get through the system manage to get promoted, then they proceed to hire even stupider people, and so on and so on...... We all sit back blame someone else and do nothing! HA HA HA.... Guess that's life!

Good luck with all your quests to find an intelligent conversation, co-worker, employee, partner, or whatever.......

I have faith that the quality of people needed to change the world are around, we just need to seek them out and make them the new figures that will really create change!

Change of Direction --->--<---

Sometimes you have a great idea. An idea that you think will lead not only yourself but others down a righteous path that will change the course of the future. I guess I expected that when I blogged about the starting of our business. I hoped it may inspire others or help others not to make the mistakes I did. I was hoping that the people postponing dreams would take a leap. This is the time, today is the day, the economy is going to crap, the weather of the world is closing in (or sure as hell changing for the worse), hate is very real and life as we know is is changing. You may not want to consed to the fact that we are evolving for the better or WORSE. People have a huge amount of good inherently in them, problem is the bad seem to get the exposure the good deserves.

OK. Now that I have said that I am changing my blog direction. I am not going to stop posting the ups and downs, experiences and pitfalls that occur during my business journey but..... I am going to tell what I observe the shit we all see but sometimes never say. I want to vent in a constructive way. I remember when I was in school every professor I had always said "there is no stupid question, just the question not asked". I am going to rephrase that to there is no stupid observation just the one that is not challenged! We let so may people walk all over us. It may be direct such as a confrontation or indirect such as a government piece of bull shit. We all see it everyday and we all have our opinions. We are all entitled to those opinions but what will it hurt to voice them?

I have found out more people than I expected read this than I expected. I love to get feedback because if I help you great, if I piss you off well at least you are thinking!

We all fear change....We all fear the unknown..... Fear hold us all back, it is what makes us step back when we need to step forward. The gauntlet that we call life is the journey God gave us to walk. If you know the end than why step back? If you are a good person than you should not have fear just wings under your feet. I struggle everyday just as you all do. I just know somewhere deep down that it is OK. I do not know where that place is, or why I should listen, I just know!

It is wonderfully relieving to put on paper what you feel, what you need to say. I find that it help me and sometimes others. I hope to become a more proficient writer. I hope to get a bigger following, I hope to inspire you! I hope you inspire me back. Maybe, just maybe we can take the negative world and together make it a bit more positive!

Good luck on your journey and wish me luck on mine!~

The art in yOu~

This post for the past, present, and hopefully the future! WHAT, YOU MAY ASK? well... the fact of the matter is that I have found that I am a lover of the arts... Really art in various forms. I really love photography. Having said this, I was probably a poor artist as a child or that seems like that was what I was told. Now that I am older, I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...SOOOO... if you do not like it "FUCK YOU" I DO!!! Anyways... I have been told lately that I am talented in the realm of taking pictures. This makes me feel good!

This is really not what this post is about. It is about the fact that my daughter is a great....GREAT artist and she is 7. Not just with one form of media but varied forms. I was looking over some artistic pictures that she just took and my heart leaped. I showed her a few things and she not only comprehended them but was able to use them with her own vision to make a great shot. I know we all have talent, some hidden due to the fact we are to busy to explore, some undiscovered, and some that we use everyday. I am going to continue on my journey to find myself and encourage Megan to find hers. Sometimes, the gifts right in front of you are the gifts that are not seen, I hope to encourage her to use her talents.
I am sure she could be the next actress or performer, or artist to strike the world! Hope she remembers me~

In all of our daily activities we see wonder....wonder beyond what we know. I hope everyday I am thankful for that wonder! Find your wonder and put it down,,, it may be paint, paper, print, photos, gardening! Who cares just do it today!

Good LUCK~
